The Spotswood Winter Track and Field program is built on consistency, versatility, and a commitment to athlete development under the leadership of Mike Reid, a coach whose experience spans multiple sports and seasons.

Reid brings a strong foundation in track and field to the program, having participated in both Winter and Spring Track at Lenape High School. That firsthand experience as a student-athlete shapes his understanding of the demands of the sport—speed, endurance, technique, and mental toughness—and informs the structure and expectations of the winter season.

As a coach, Reid offers extensive, sport-specific leadership. He served as Head Girls Winter Track & Field Coach from 2018–2019 and has been the Head Boys Spring Track Coach since 2018, providing year-round continuity in training philosophy and athlete progression. This alignment between winter and spring seasons allows Spotswood athletes to develop progressively, building strength and skill while emphasizing proper preparation and injury prevention.

Beyond track, Reid’s long-standing role as Head Girls Soccer Coach at Spotswood High School (2006–Present) adds another dimension to the program. His experience managing team dynamics, conditioning programs, and competitive expectations across sports enhances the culture of Winter Track and Field, reinforcing accountability, teamwork, and resilience.

Under Reid’s guidance, the Spotswood Winter Track and Field program focuses on maximizing individual potential while contributing to team success. Athletes are encouraged to embrace versatility, compete with confidence, and take pride in representing Spotswood. The result is a program grounded in experience, continuity, and a clear commitment to excellence.
